RETROSCREEN HIV is a rapid, qualitative, lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the differential detection of total antibodies (IgG, IgM, IgA) to HIV-1 and HIV-2 in human serum or plasma samples. The test is ideal for screening, diagnostic labs, hospitals, and blood banks, providing quick and reliable results.

Principle:
The test uses a two-site sandwich lateral flow format:

• Sample antibodies to HIV-1 or HIV-2 bind to colloidal gold-labeled HIV antigens, forming immune complexes.

• These complexes migrate and are captured by HIV-1 and HIV-2 antigens immobilized at separate test regions, producing visible lines at the T1 (HIV-1) and T2 (HIV-2) regions.

• A Control (C) line, coated with rabbit globulin, confirms proper test performance.
