PARABANK® Dipstick Rapid Test for Malaria Pan is a self-performing, rapid, qualitative immunoassay designed to detect Pan-specific parasite lactate dehydrogenase (pLDH) in whole blood. Unlike conventional diagnostic tests, PARABANK® is specifically intended for screening blood bags in blood banks, helping to exclude infected blood and prevent transfusion-acquired malaria.

Principle:
A lateral flow dipstick immunochromatographic assay where Pan-specific pLDH binds to colloidal gold conjugates. The reaction produces a visible line in the test region, confirming the presence of malaria parasites.

Performance:

• Sensitivity: 100% (correlation with microscopy)

• Specificity: 100% (Pan-specific pLDH)

• Test Duration: 20 minutes
